POSITION SUMMARY
Our client needs an Internal Auditor who can supervise the checking of expenditure and revenue records. The Internal Auditor is directly responsible for examining the accuracy and completeness of records, safeguarding the company’s assets, and ensuring areas of operations are in full compliance with professional accounting standards. This role leads to the mitigation of risks.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
o Examine the accuracy and completeness of records and procedures for internal control to safeguard the company’s assets and ensure areas of operations are in compliance with Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing issued by the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) and other local professional accounting bodies like ICAN.
o Report audit findings and recommendations to mitigate risk directly to the company’s Audit Committee.
o Checks or supervises the checking of expenditure and revenue records to determine arithmetical accuracy, compliance with regulations, application of approved rates of payment and accuracy of classification.
o Receives, examines and reviews reports submitted by subordinates.
o Deploys audit queries among junior audit staff members and monitors follow up action on such matters
o Strive to live the company values, and add value beyond the JD of any position the person is hired for.
o Support the provision of adequate compliance monitoring and risk assessment of company operations

o Understand the Company Values and her/his role & BSC
o Show she/he has talent to take initiatives and find solutions
o Review current operations and support the provision of a plan to deliver a compliance ready organization within 6months
• 90 Day Milestone
o 50% completion of plan
• 180 Day Milestone
o 100% completion of plan
QUALIFICATIONS (EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS)
Qualification: Advanced University degree (or equivalent) in business administration, accounting (or related field) with relevant professional certifications.
Experience: 3 - 5 years of internal audit experience, ideally with exposure to Technical and Marketing services and Energy sectors
Competence: Detailed knowledge of financial statements and related Audit risks- based methodologies and practices, including IT Audit principles; Superior Accounting, Auditing and /or IT technical skills
